Geoff Poli, Vice President of Business Operations

What do you do at PMI and how long have you been there?
I joined PMI July, 2006 as a member of the senior leadership team and am responsible for the Account Service Team and Business Development at PMI.
What is your experience prior to joining PMI?
I've been in the event marketing industry since 1990. I started out working with tradeshow organizers developing and managing tradeshows. I moved to the agency world in 1999, most recently with Carat Brand Experience in Boston. I was then kidnapped and transplanted to the Midwest to join the PMI Team.
What is your favorite PMI Core Value?
"Work as a Team, Win as a Team"

In my short time here, I've seen countless examples of this. Everyone is willing to step in and help out regardless of title or role. If you need help, all you have to do is raise your hand and several people will be there to support you.
So, do you have a life outside of PMI?
Sure, I have been married to my beautiful wife Keri for 9 years and we have two kids, Matthew and Catie and a Sprinter Spaniel named Jake.

When I am not working I enjoy all kinds of sports with my kids and I play golf as often as possible. When I'm not playing or working, you'll usually find me in the kitchen working on a new recipe. (Sorry ladies, he is married).
What is your favorite quote?
"Less is more." Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, pioneering architect. This is one of my favorites because I think that many times, we tend to gravitate towards complex solutions to the challenges we face. Sometimes, the best and most successful solutions are the simple ones.
What are you most proud of professionally?
Seeing people that I've hired and coached grow into senior management positions in an organization.
What are you most proud of personally?
Raising 2 really great kids!
