Cathi Kennedy, Director of Administration

What do you do at PMI and how long have you been there?
I have been with PMI from almost the beginning - Feb., 1996 as the Office Manager / Assistant to the President / member of the Leadership Team / Queen. I have also been know as the Glue (the keeps us together), the Oil (that keeps us running), and the Firefighter (that puts out fires and keeps us calm).
What is your experience prior to joining PMI?
Prior to joining PMI I floated around several jobs as either an Office Manager or some type of Administrative Assistant. My Marketing background comes from working at another event marketing agency prior to PMI. The balance of my experience comes from working here and jumping in where needed.
What is your favorite PMI Core Value?
It's hard to choose, but I would say..."Make it Happen".

In the office you will never hear anyone say, "I can't do that" or "That is not my job". When something needs to get done whether it is for a client or someone else in the office, we make sure it gets done - from flying senior management out to help drive a vehicle across the country to make an event to staying until 10pm to get a quick turnaround presentation out the door.
So, do you have a life outside of PMI?
Sometimes...JK (as my daughter says - just kidding). I have been married to my husband Charlie for 18 years (high school sweethearts) and have 2 great kids - Taylor - 15 (yes, I was a child bride) and Alex - 11. I enjoy spending time with my family, attending the many sporting events they all participate in, pedicures, reading, and long walks on the beach.
What are you most proud of professionally?
The opportunity I have at PMI to grow professionally. When I started in 1996 my son was 4 weeks old and he came to work with me every day until he was 18 months old. My role at the company was minimal - office supplies, travel, beepers (yes, beepers), and other duties. As PMI continues to grow, so I have in my role at the company. I have seen myself accomplish many things (getting my degree, managing projects, managing people, presenting to clients, etc.) that would not have been possible without the support and coaching of the Team at PMI.
What are you most proud of personally?
My family - our close relationships and the times we spend together.
